Advanced World Martial Arts Taekwondo
Advanced World Martial Arts (AWMA) is a proud representative of Grandmaster Dong's Martial Arts, a renowned school established in the United States in 1973. Advanced World Martial Arts offers expert instruction in traditional and sport taekwondo.
🧭 Our philosophy
We believe Taekwondo is more than a martial art — it’s a way to grow mentally, emotionally, and physically. Our training focuses on:
Discipline – Learning to persevere and stay focused
Respect – Toward oneself, instructors, peers and community
Confidence – Gained through progress, effort and self-defence skills
Growth for all – We welcome students of every age and skill level
By cultivating these values, we aim to shape not only great martial artists, but great people.

Meet our instructor: Lee Bargwanna

Lee Bargwanna, head instructor at Advanced World Martial Arts, is a passionate and thoughtful martial artist trained under the renowned Grandmaster Dong’s Martial Arts School. His approach to Taekwondo blends traditional values with modern, purposeful training.
Coach Lee believes in more than just repetition — he encourages his students to train with intention, to push beyond automatic movements, and to constantly seek growth both physically and mentally. His philosophy emphasises developing reliable strengths while also transforming weaknesses into potential.
For Lee, martial arts is not just about combat, it’s a lifelong journey of discipline, resilience, and self-discovery, where every session is a step toward becoming stronger, sharper and more anti-fragile.

What we offer
At AWMA, we provide Tae Kwon Do classes for all ages 5 and above, and skill levels, fostering a supportive environment where everyone can thrive. Our programs include:
Kids' Class (ages 5–12)
Our childrens' classes are designed to be fun, active and empowering. Young students learn focus, respect and self-discipline, while developing coordination, balance and basic self-defence skills — all through structured taekwondo training suited to their age group.
Intermediate & advanced classes
For teens and adults who already have some experience, we offer intermediate and advanced training that builds on foundational techniques. These classes focus on improving power, speed, sparring strategy, and precision, while helping students work toward their next belt level or prepare for competition.

Our general sessions welcome all ages and abilities, making them perfect for families, or individuals who want to train together. These classes are structured to allow beginners to learn the basics, while more experienced students continue to refine their skills and support others.
